Frequently Asked Questions:
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that my clients cancel or reschedule their appointment at least 24 hours in advance to avoid begin charged for the session.
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes each. I also offer extended therapy sessions that last 1 hour and 15 minutes.
How much does a therapy session cost?
A typical individual session costs $175.
Do you take insurance?
I can provide you a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network providers.
I want to begin therapy, but I'm not sure I can afford it. What do I do?
If you find the session fee prohibitive of your ability to receive mental health treatment, please contact me directly. I have a limited number of sliding scale appointments available for you.
Is everything in our session kept confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential. There are a few exceptions where I am mandated to break confidentiality, for example if there is a report of child, dependent adult or elder abuse or if there is a report of intent to harm yourself or another person.
How long have you been in practice?
I have practiced as a therapist for 6 years in a range of different settings from residential trauma treatment centers to intensive dialectical behavior therapy outpatient programs to community mental health. I have enjoyed working in private practice for the past three years.
If you have more questions about the nature of therapy or how I can help you, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 818.925.0501. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
